Utah Orchid Society
The Society was founded in 1970 by David Roskelly and Zur Brough, then owners of Orchids Bountiful. Orchids Bountiful was noted for having a large collection of orchid species. The Society’s goals are to promote an appreciation of the beauty of this unique family of plants and to educate members as well as the public as to how to cultivate them in the home or in the greenhouse. In addition, we are committed to the preservation of orchids in their natural habitats such that they will be available for future generations.
The Utah Orchid Society meets at the Sugar House Garden Center, 1602 E. 2100 S., Salt Lake City, Utah. The society usually meets on the second Monday of every month, with the exception of a summer break during July and August. Meetings usually start at 7:30 pm with the door to the garden center opening at 7:00 pm.
The general public is welcome to attend meetings. Please feel free to come to a meeting; no arrangements need to be made.
