Poster Contest Winners Chosen

At the Winter Board Meeting of the UAGC today, winners were selected in the Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl poster contest, which is open to elementary school students in the 1st through 5th grades. The posters must contain an image of Smokey Bear with the motto “Only You Can Prevent Wildfires,” or Woodsy Owl with the motto “Lend a Hand, Care for the Land.” This year we had over 250 contestants from schools in the Salt Lake Valley and as far away as Cedar City. Congratulations to our winners: 1st grade, Milly Aboda, St. Vincent de Paul School, Salt Lake City. 2nd grade, Seneca Kenwood, Driggs Elementary, Holladay. 3rd grade, Ada Holt, Driggs Elementary. 4th grade, Lucy Adair, Driggs Elementary. 5th grade, Abby Frankel, St. Vincent de Paul School. They will now be entered in the Rocky Mountain Regional contest.
