UAGC Fall Convention a Success

On Saturday, October 18, the Utah Associated Garden Clubs held their annual Fall Convention and Symposium. The meeting was conducted and organized by UAGC President Sue McJames, who also prepared packets of wildflower seeds for all attendees. A drawing was held for items that had been donated, and a delicious potluck dinner was enjoyed by all. The guest speaker was Doug Tallamy, who provided us with an online presentation about the nationwide benefits of planting for pollinators and caterpillars in our own back yards. He noted that the alarming decline in bird populations observed in this country has occurred mostly among birds that are dependent on insects for food.
