Alt. Garden Club Meeting Oct. 4, 2017: “A New Look at Old Lawns”

The next meeting of the Alternative Garden Club will be Wednesday, October 4 at 7:30 PM in the Sugar House Garden Center.  The topic will be “A New Look at Old Lawns.” There is a fascinating history behind this landscape feature that most of us take for granted.  Why do we plant lawns in the English-speaking world, whereas most other cultures don’t?  Do lawns contribute to global warming?  Can they be environmentally friendly?  Come learn the answers to these and other questions.
